Over the weekend, I tried a Caribbean restaurant in Brooklyn named Imani for brunch with one of my best friends. As soon as we drove by it, I was excited to try the restaurant. It was beautiful outside that day, and they have outdoor seating. It's so charming, there are fairy lights outside, and there's soft Caribbean music playing in the background. It's a great spot for friends, but I think it's perfect for a date. I have to go back with Craig!
We ordered the jerk mac and cheese with shrimp to share, my friend ordered bake and shark, and I got the jerk chicken and hash that came with sweet potato hash, a sunny side egg, and a pineapple and mango chutney. The jerk mac and cheese was absolutely delicious!! It had all of the wonderful jerk spices without being too spicy. It was perfectly cheesy and one of my favorite mac and cheeses yet. I tried a bite of the bake and shark and that was also yummy. But I absolutely LOVED the jerk chicken and hash. The chicken was nicely seasoned and so tender it melts in your mouth. The pineapple and mango chutney went well with it. Their drinks are amazing! I tried the Imani rum punch and the coconut rum punch - the Imani rum punch is super strong, and the coconut rum punch is sweeter but less strong.
Sparkle rating: 10 out of 10 - It's a cute place with yummy food, delicious drinks, and great service. What more could I ask for?!
