The Shady Lady

Here is what I thought of the restaurant 'The Shady Lady' in Astoria, Queens for brunch...

Brunch is one of my absolute favorite things. I mean, who doesn’t love day drinking? I went with my boyfriend, his name is Craig, and I’ll name him because I’ll probably use his name a lot.
We ordered the eggs benedict, corn beef hash with scrambled eggs, mac and cheese, turkey sausage, and bacon. Yep, we had a full out feast.
I must say that we enjoyed every single thing. The eggs benedict had the best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever tasted. It was so buttery.

Everyone has a preference for certain flavors, I love cheese and if a type of cheese is sharp I really enjoy it. Craig on the other hand, has a limit to how sharp his cheese can be. With that said, we both enjoyed the mac and cheese. There’s a great balance of cheesiness and flavor.
To drink we had the red sangria, and the “Shady Royale,” which is the restaurant’s signature brunch drink. Love it! It’s perfect. To top off the good food, we sat at the bar and had the best service. Our bartender/waiter was so attentive and friendly. Good service is really the icing on the cake for me. You can walk away from a restaurant so satisfied because of it.

I went back a few weeks after with some girl friends and I tried the chicken and waffles. It's the best chicken and waffles I have ever tasted, there's some spice to it and I love that!
So kudos to Shady Lady! It gets a 5 out of 5 from me.
